Lego®  Chinese Lunar Zodiac New Year Series

Lego®  Chinese Lunar Zodiac New Year Series

Lego® Chinese Lunar Zodiac New Year Series commemorates the festivities celebrated by every generation. They can recreate festivals and help to teach important Chinese traditions and customs. To support this tradition LEGO® releases a new animal set for every year’s zodiac animal.

In order, these zodiac animals are the Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig. Chinese zodiac years begin/end at Chinese New Year (in January/February). Each year in the repeating zodiac cycle of 12 years is represented by a zodiac animal, each with its own reputed attributes.

This Lego® Series was first released in 2013 with The Year of Snake as the initial release.

As they were first released in 2013 I was not able to find all of them. Especially the ones from 2013 and 2014 are very difficult to find. You can always check sellers on Amazon.com or eBay or Bricklink. The average price of this set is now over $150, although it was originally released for $49.99.

This Lego®  Chinese Lunar Zodiac set will make great gifts for friends and family especially if they are into Chinese zodiac signs.

To complete the Lego®  Chinese Lunar Zodiac New Year Series you need to wait 5 more years as LEGO releases a new one only once a year. So after 5 years, you can complete the set :)).

Age Recommendation

Although mostly the read 7+ as age recommendations, younger children can also easily build and play with this set as long as you are ready to help them with reading the booklet. Plugging the tiles is easy. They have fairly fewer parts than most LEGO sets.
